I have a 2013 1.2 TSI hatchback with Maxidot display.  I have just collected my car from the garage after having it serviced.  The speedo numerals and Rev counter digits (also the fuel and temp. gauge) only light up when I turn on the lights.  All other lights come on and the needle lights illuminate.  I seem to recall that they are illuminated anytime the ignition is on and am concerned that may be the mechanic has altered settings whilst resetting the service indicator.   What does other peoples car show on their dashboard, please?

As far as I am aware, Fabia's dash lights only come on when the lights are activated. Helps prevent you from driving at night with an illuminated dash making you think you put your lights on, when you have not!

Thanks for your response MRGF, that would sound logical.  It seems odd though that the needles of the Speedo, Rev counter, fuel and temperature gauge are all illuminated though their surrounding digits are not!  Everything is only fully illuminated when I turn the lights 'on'.

There is an ambient light sensor, so you get the needles illuminated.

 

If you have DRL's then they are on with no light switch on.

Do you get the Dials lit with sidelights only, and Sidelights & Headlights, then that is as it should be. 

Some do not light on sidelights only.
