cars dead

Featured Replies

Hello,

I hope someone can help, I switched the car alarm off with the fob this morning. I put the key in the ignition  and turned it, and the car was dead,no electrics showing on the dashboard, nothing ! Not a single light came on, the side lights work, hazzards work, But nothing shows up on the dash board at all....

Any ideas, anyone?

Many thanks

Something was left on and the battery is flat.

First check the terminals on the battery and the clamps are tight.

Call your Breakdown Service if you have cover, or Skoda Assist if valid cover.

Sounds like the battery management has disabled most circuits due to the battery being flat.

You'll need to recharge the battery (using a charger suitable for AGM/EFB batteries). You'll probably find once you've done that the battery management module will have stored several fault codes saying which systems it has turned off which may also have caused other modules to store fault codes - just clear them all and hope the deep discharge hasn't harmed the battery.
