Android Auto. Assistant/Alexa Question

Featured Replies

Hi everyone .  I'm using Android Auto - wired connection to my phone.

I can use voice command for destination/routing  (via Waze), or to search for music on my Amazon music account.  The system uses Google Assistant.  Is there a way for me to use Alexa easily?  I have the Alexa app on the phone.

Thanks -

Android auto is developed by Google so I very much doubt there will be any option to swap Google assistant for alexa options available. You may be able to see if there is anything on the topic on the xda android auto forums that can help but I doubt it.

no. Google and Amazon are rivals, google is no more going to allow you to use alexa than alexa would let you use google assistant.  But to be honest alexa is more geared to facilitating shopping, Google assistant is much better for the sort of things you want to do when driving (navigate, play music, make calls, send texts etc)

Thanks both. Only wanted to do it to have better integration with Amazon Music.

Unfortuantely when i search for music though my Amazon account at the moment, it usually says "Playing Prince" for example then goes on to play something completely unrelated..
