Updating Satnav

Featured Replies

I have recently purchased a pre-owned Yeti and wish to update the satnav.  Following the instructions it is telling me to reformat the SD Card with the existing maps on it.  Is this correct or am I in danger of loosing all the data - It makes me nervous!

Might help a bit if you provide the age and model unit you have

Copy the all the folders onto your computer first, that way if anything goes wrong you've still got the base information.

I think there is a thread in the Technical Guides section on here that might help.

Thanks for the replies.

The year is 2016.  I believe it is the Amundsen software although nowhere can I find a reference to it.  It is identified as ECE 2016 and covers Western Europe and the UK.

I was afraid that should I have any problems during the download I would then have a u/s satnav.

I think I will download to a new SD Card to be safe.

Only the supplied Skoda SD card will work in the unit, which is the Amundsen II unit, as it has a file on it that cannot be copied and is read by the unit. Therefore using a different card in the unit will not work.

As I said there is a full explanation of how to do the update the maps for your unit is in the Yeti Guides section on this forum. Link here:

Thanks Llanigraham

The info and link is very useful.  I hadn’t spotted the read only tab on the SD Card for one thing.

I shall be following the instructions in the link so thanks also to Falmouthboy
