Front Jacking Point

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am about to jack up my yeti to change the front pads. I want to jack up the front of the yeti (ie both front wheel off the ground).

Previously on other cars it was easy to put the trolley jack under the sump or part of the frame but under the yeti is all this plastic coverings and I don't know where to put it.

Is there a suitable jacking point on the front?

Thanks

You were lucky that the sump did not collapse under the weight of the car!

Designed to hold the oil in not the car up

Easy, one jack and 2 axle stands.
Much safer than working on a car supported by a jack.

I used to be able to actually see the crossmember on earlier cars but aero efficiency in modern cars makes it a right pita now.

Jackstands are still needed either way............and I don’t think the sump was designed with a minimum crush figure in mind either.

Ive got some drive on ramps that are brilliant. They have a hydraulic jack built into them. You drive on and then jack up a platform, remove the ramp and let the car down onto axle stands.
