Addaptive cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi guys i do not know if question has been asked or not before but i have search on this forum and could not find anything. So here is a question i have octavia mk3 se-l (2018)model which now comes with sensor up front that stops a car from hitting a person or other car(it was tested today by accident and it works)now my question is can that be coded to use as addaptive cruise control as it shows me on motorway(on 70mph) if im to close to a car up front? If yes can that be coded with thing like OBDeleven.I know that is probably pushing it but if you do not ask you do not know. Many thanks.

I don't know if it's the same front sensor, but you definitely need a different control stalk. The adaptive CC stalk has 3 arms instead of 2.

Eh?

Adaptive cruise control has X-Y-Z axis of movement (Up-Down-Forward-Backward) plus a switch, probably best to get a dealer to retrofit & code it, if you want it, unless of course you're good at technical & repairing/upgrading things.

Attached are pictures of the steering column stalks. The one with three arms is fitted for Acc.

The top one of the two pictures is the one that is for ACC.

Yeah that's what I'm saying. It's not just a case of coding. You need different controls too.
