Just a quick note about my experience today.

 

Normally I don't have any problem in changing the h7 bulbs in the Fabia (2009 pre facelift) or the Octavia (2011).

 

This morning on the facelift 2013 Fabia was more frustrating. Thought I was doing to break the holder trying to get it out.

 

The access hole is now a lot smaller than on the older version,  can't get knuckes in, just fingers, boy was it stiff! Had to take a photo to check I was doing it right and something hadn't been changed. It did eventually let go. Before refitting, I bent the locking tabs on the metal bulb holder a little further forward to make it easy to fit and remove next time.

 

Just to remind everyone, to remove the bulb, grab the back of the bulb connector firmly and twist it anti clockwise (looking towards the front of the car) it could be very stiff indeed. Persevere and resist the temptation to use some tool like pliers as the plastic plug looks and feels a bit fragile.

I swapped filament bulbs to LED's a while back, on an (09) Model and had to change the little metal tabs. The newer ones where a bit of a pain to get in but as you say, persevere and you will succeed.

LED's are brighter, for sure.
