long term mpg display issue?

Featured Replies

Went to write down the long term mpg so I could post on here as we are over 6000 miles but noticed that the display says average for 1500 miles approx, we haven't reset this any ideas of what's going on? as I would have thought the long term related to either last time battery disconnected (never) or when we bought car from new.

From the owners manual:

Long-term
The memory gathers driving data from any number of individual journeys up to a total of 99 hours and 59 minutes driving time or 9999 kilometres driven.
The indicator is automatically set back to zero if one of the indicated values is exceeded.

At a guess, you've exceeded one of those values :)

Thank you for that, on a positive note it means the display isn't faulty on the negative I find that really annoying, but I suppose each manufacturer is different.

What we're all dying to know however, is what is your long term (1500 miles) average mpg?

Just added the below into the MPG thread (so I don't get told off :o, but duplicated it here seeing as you asked)

Had our car since February 6015 on the clock.

Long term on 1524 miles average mph 24  average 42.5mpg over 62.31 hours 92 green leaf

since refuelling 157 miles average 26 mph average 44.5mpg 6.04 hours 91 leaf.

We have the edition model, 1.5 dsg and certainly use the heated seats and the heated windscreen on these figures and air con when required.  Husband uses the eco mode. His Monday to Friday commute is only 5 miles each way, one of these journeys is one junction on the motorway and the return on 30mph roads at rush hour.  In the long term figure this would have included a journey to Central London and back yesterday and from Kent to Croydon and back a few weeks ago.

Husband took our car to Skoda today to get the rear windscreen wiper blade sorted as it keeps juddering he was told the Edition is very sort after as you now can't get the glass roof and the car the salesman took delivery of at the same time as ours he had to sell as a customer wanted it and then his replacement car was sold too.  The dealership is not allowed to have a 1.5 in their showroom as there is too much demand for them.
