Audi Question

Featured Replies

My brother has an Audi A3 2.0 FSI. It has spent most of its life in and out of the garage. He got it back yesterday after they fitted his third new fuel pump. The problem he keeps have is loss of power. The fault is intermitent. Whilst on the motorway he lost all power and the car would not pick up. It sometimes struggles to get above 3000 revs. If he turns the car off and then on again it cures the problem for a bit.

Is thiis a MAF problem. I dont think it is annythiing to do with a fuel pump. The car is still under warranty. Any advice on possible cause would be appreciated.

Not likely to be maf on that car, what sort of miles has the vehicle done ????

Also he will need to be using Super Unleaded or more ideally Shell Optimax -- the FSi requires higher octane fuel.

You say it loses power and won't pick up ?? -- will it rev freely if in nuetral -- if so this would appear to be a fault on the accelerator pedal potentiometer.

The reason it clears the fault when switched off is that the car does a check routine when started and clears.
