Problem with light switch

Hi guys,i have a problem with the light switch on my superb mk 2,For some reason the front dip beam lights are always on,and when i put the switch to off they still say on,only when i put the switch to parking lights,they go off(also goes of when car is turned off)is this a switch problem?any help would be great

Probably worth checking with VCDS but you probably have a fault code for 'implausible signal'.

 

If that's the case, it could be either the switch or wiring to it.

No mate,never used day running,only when they turn off when the car is on ,is the parking lights

Once again, if the setup is such that the main headlamps are being used as daylight running lights, this is should be the default action, whether 0 or AUTO on the switch, the DRL (low beam in your case) will be on

ah i know what you mean now,I think i know now,my battery went dead and prob,went into factory reset,I will check mate,thanks

Some very early UK-bound MkII Superb's (2008 / 2009) were delivered with the DRL function being performed via dipped headlights.

 

The dedicated 21W DRL's located down by the front foglights didn't appear until late 2009, early 2010.

Yes - some of those are here in Ireland too - one of my staff had an early 09 reg (08 MY) that did the DRL function this way.
