Blind spot and reverse detection issue

Featured Replies

For some reason, recently they are unticking themselves when I get out of the car, all other settings are fine and stay as they should, any ideas?

Not had this one myself @Baggins (I have the same car as you), but a couple of things you might want to try.

Have you changed keys? Settings are personal to the key, so that might have caused it. If not, you could try ticking the option and pressing the seat memory button to see if that persuades it to remember the setting you want. If you use personalisation, try ticking the required assist system and then re-assigning the key to the profile. Good luck.

Thanks Jeff, no the same key. I'll try the seat thing sometime this week.

I moved the seat, changed profile, copied profile, changed name but it still unticks them for some reason, strange.

I had this on mine from new ,only picked it up in September.

Resolved this week with a software reload under warranty.

Aha! Same problem on my Superb - the blind spot detection system switches itself off every time I turn the ignition off. Doesn't matter whether I activate it using the steering wheel control or the main computer console, it always goes off again.

After a session with the car plugged into diagnostic systems this morning, the mechanic confirmed that a data module was not doing what it was supposed to (sorry, I didn't really absorb the technical detail) and, when it couldn't find the data it wanted, it was switching off the blind spot assist (and, incidentally, also flashing up an "ACC Deactivated" message even though the the ACC had not previously been engaged).

Appropriate programming/recoupling tasks were carried out and all is now good. The  blind spot assist is remaining engaged and there is a reassuring orange light in the wing mirrors each time I start the engine.
