Featured Replies

Hi all hope some one can help me I have a skoda octavia vrs 2l tfsi 2010 with a 6 speed dsg gearbox and 146000 on the clock and i am having issues with the dsg when i put the car into drive i am getting a very loud clunk and as it changes up and down in 1st 2nd and 3rd I still get the clunk but it don't do it in 4th 5th 6th it's not due a dsg oil change as it had on when I got the car 9 months ago just wondering if anyone else has had the same issue and what was the cause there is no error codes so I was thinking clutch pack as I have heard these can go any help would be gratefully received regards perry

How confident are you that the oil change was done properly?

Welcome.

Do a little search,  keywords.  briskoda octavia dsg clunk

There are quite a few threads in the past weeks, years and months, Mk2 & Mk3 6 speed wet clutch DSG.

Well when i got the car i took straight to a main stealer and had full service done checked to see which cambelt tenshioner I had and a dsg oil chance even though it didn't need it for another 10000 miles it has full service history from main dealers aswell so I would hope they done the job correctly

?

Is this clunk a recent thing that has just started happening?

?

Did the Full Main Dealer Service History show each DSG oil change as done at 40,000 miles,

or show something else?

Best have the noise checked out by a technician or mechanic with good hearing and an interest in diagnosing if it is or not the clutch packs, the MCU or something less costly.

Dsg was first done at 38k then at 79k then 120k and I had it redone at main dealers when i bought the car which had 126k on it it's now done 146k so shouldn't need it for at least 20k more had a bit of a poke around and it looks like I have oil staining on the bottom of the gearbox near the metatronic black box thing on the front of the box i assume there is some kind of gasket on that starting to think it's low on oil now .

could explain a few things like clutch slip and jerky behaviour in 1st 2nd and 3rd aswell as the clunck hope no major damage has been done

Just a bit of a update for anyone following this post done a dsg oil chance and filter and found that it has been leaking oil as when I drained it I only got 1.5L oil out of the box so have now put 5L in it warmed it up to 35°C WITH VCSD  and drained off the until it started to chop when draining.

Still getting a small clunk when you first put it into gear but it's alot smoother through the gears now and hardly any hesitation but now the search begins for a replacement box my box is a LQZ either a exact match or a compatable box so if any knows of a different compatable box codes
