Fabia windscreen washer kaput

Featured Replies

Hi my daughters Fabia WJ15 Reg .... windscreen washer not working and apparently no power getting to the pump;  not a fuse and not the pump

Any pointers where I should try please?

Many thanks, Rob

Power normally goes like this:-

Battery

Fuse box

Switch

washer pump.

Is there more than one fuse?

Fuse 46 Front and rear window washer, operating lever under the steering wheel. ( NO )

Does the rear washer work. It is normally the same pump but pumps in the other direction.

Check power is getting to the fuse? If yes:-

Check power is getting to to switch? HTH.

Thanks AG Falco

The windscreen wiper function seems to be prone to failure due to a switch/stalk failure, so maybe the washer function on that stalk is also another weak part of that stalk?

I’m just alerting you to that fact, though I think that there are 2 fuses involved with supplying the washer motor based on what some people have reported, so maybe use the search function ?

Thanks for the replies guys, appreciated.     Rear wash does not work either.  Only found 1 fuse No 46...... I'll check for second but not sure

Think the stalk switch is getting a signal ok but no power to pump it seems

Remember that there might be a fuse that is protecting some of the BCM outputs and a fuse dedicated to the washer pump which uses one of the BCM outputs, so that would mean that there could be a fuse that is not being described as a "washer pump" but some other general description, when in reality it also protects the washer pump drive lead.

Check fuses 22, 27, 31 and 46.

Thanks for that;  I'll check the fuses in the daylight and let you know;  much appreciated,  Rob
