Switch from H4 Headlights to H7 Headlights

Featured Replies

My car, a 2011 facelift model, came with H4 reflector headlights. Can they be swapped for H7 projector headlight? They were both available at the same time, the look to be the same size and shape, is the connector the same? Is this a matter of just swapping the headlights or there is more to it? Thanks!

The projector headlight with shutter on dip is terrible. The shutter robs 50% of the light from the bulb. Your H4 reflector is far better. If insisting on upgrading the headlamp units then I recommend you get the unit with 2  h7 bulbs which is a projector for dip and reflector for main.

Can't comment about wiring.

I am talking about the one with 2 h7 bulbs. Is is supposed to be better at lighting the road compared with the h4 reflector headlamp right?

Yeah, like MBC said, the 2x H7 projector lights are (in my opinion) brighter! My wife has the H4 lights and my Greenline has the H7's and they just seem to 'project' the light further! (both set up correctly by a specialist friend of mine)

as for the wiring, I think the main part of the loom is the same, t then splits to the separate H7 connectors, don't now if it's done by plugs within the loom, or it's a whole new section of loom required!
