removing airbag stickers from sun visor

Featured Replies

Hin Folks

I have had my 2015 yeti for just a week now so be gentle with me

The signs for airbags on the passsenger sun visor in my opinion look a bit naf has anybody removed them ?

I suspect a bit of heat will do the job ? but I am nervous of making a mess of what to me is a new car any suggestions

will be gratefully accepted

Mike

I have a 2015 Yeti and it looks like they cannot be removed to leave an undamaged surface, I have tried heat and solvents.
It would be easier to cover it somehow.

If you remove them and a passenger or child suffers an injury involving an airbag, your insurance may be invalidated and you may be held liable.

In the absence of any sound evidence to support this assertion, my inclination would be to file this in the bucket labelled "scaremongering nonsense".

I tend to agree.  Only if the sticker removal was a material cause of an accident or contributed to the consequences of an accident might this bear any truth; scenarios I can only imagine in extreme stretches of reality.

The stickers are there for type approval.

I don't think they are stickers anyway; part of the surface finish of the visor?

I also would have liked to remove them, but don't think it is possible without leaving a worse looking mess.

And so are seatbelts, and airbags and much much more.....

It may be unlikely, but in an inquest or accident investigation involving death or serious injury, very few stones are left unturned.

Warning Stickers on the passenger side do not have Braille i notice, but then i have my eyesight,  those that are blind are obviously not getting a warning

sticker or an audible warning.

The CD Holder or just the hand pouch for pens and tickets on the sun visor covers any stickers there are on the visor.

Neither do emergency exit and safety signs on trains, planes and buses. Which are obviously a waste of money and eyesores too.

Fully trained employees there to make 'those with visual impairment  aware of the safety advice.

Nothing like a Air Bag going off to let you know there has been an incident, or to wake you up if you are going to wake up.

My 2014 Yeti doesn't have any air bag stickers on the visor where as my 2011 Yeti did have.
