Hello. I've bought error free led bulbs for the license plate,however they've thrown an error. I don't have the software to cancel this out and dont really want put someone out to do it on my behalf. I'm thinking of just upgrading to white halogen 501 bulbs instead. A like for like replacement just whiter. Can anyone recommend if I go down this route will it throw an error?

The only reason the LED’s throw a fault up is because of the low power they draw, either:

find some LEDs with resistors in (which will get hot and draw the same power)

wire a bulb into the wiring loom (same results as above)

fit non LED which will draw the same power as the OE ones.

To remove error, the replacement bulb simply needs to draw the correct current, so replace a 5w bulb with a 5w bulb that draws the same current.

Thanks. Ill get some white halogens to replace them for what it's worth. Only want the white light down on the license plate for the modern look. If it's led or halogen I dont mind. Thanks again
