Sensor identification required

Featured Replies

Hi folks I'm in need of some help, my cars engine management light is on, I've changed cam shaft sensor , lambda sensor on down pipe but there's one sensor i think might be the culprit in all of this, can anyone tell me what it is? Cars been running like a bag of spanners and the warning code was something like the the pic of faults I've added.  Many thanks in advance

The one in your pic is a lambda sensor (oxygen sensor). Cars these days often have two of them.

Ah okay so are they the same , sorry if it's a dul question,

The manifold pressure sensor seems more likely to be related to those fault codes. That's on the inlet manifold, driver's side end of it, I think.

Air leaks often cause pressure faults though. Check brake servo vac hose before anything else.

It wouldn't be something as simple as my air filter would it? I've checked for split pipes, and on changing from first gear to second there is a sucking sound , like the cars struggling to get air into it, I've checked the filter it looks ok but dose that necessarily mean it's okay? I really am stuck with this one.

Ok so the one on the right is the one i replaced the one one the left with wire attached i just took out of the car, the only difference is can see is the replaced one has more holes and is a little shorter. Would i be okay to replace the one with the lead with a standard lambda sensor??

It's not the lambda sensor you need to be replacing it's the manifold pressure sensor you need to be looking at. As Wino said, it's on the inlet manifold.
