Citigo Fuel Gauge

Featured Replies

The fuel gauge on our 2014 Citigo Sport shows more fuel that there actually is in the tank. The Range in the Car Info section of the Infotainment system is based on the fuel gauge reading, so is wildly wrong. As is the Range figure from the car's internal computer that shows in the speedometer window. The fuel gauge needle does move anti clockwise, as the fuel is used, but much more slowly than the actual rate of consumption.

I can manage this by calculating fuel probably used since last fill up, based on average MPG of 53,  from the actual miles travelled.

But does anyone know a quick and cheap fix for this? Otherwise, it is a dealer visit and most likely a fuel tank removal, which will not be cheap!

most likely a fuel tank removal,

Generally access to the fuel pump and level sender is under the back seat, so no need to remove tank.  Not sure if this is definitely the case on a Citigo, but this page suggests it may be: https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/citigo/cit/2014-727/2/201-201004/

Wino, thanks. So how do I remove the rear seats on my 5 door Citigo?

Is it possible to do a 'vented' refuel on a Citigo ?

On our 1.4 Polo - If I do a 'vented' refuel we get at least another 100 miles range (possibly a little more) and it takes ages for the fuel gauge to start dropping.

It would be very easy on our Polo to mistakenly push down on the vent lever just by pushing the fuel nozzle in a little more than usual and catching the vent lever with the fuel nozzle protruding ring/flange.

Have a look in the Owner's Manual, should say somewhere in there. Extremely easy usually.
