fabia 2 climatronic code 01272 v70 motor..Quick fix !

Featured Replies

hello everyone...first post on here and id like to share knowledge for a quick fix for the climatronic v70 01272 issue..(it worked for me so hopefully it may work with someone else with the same issue)

first off my car is a 2010 1.6tdi cr ,cracking wee car,it has served our family well now for around 5 years ,it has had a few hiccups along the way but nothing i couldnt fix myself, bought with 40k now turning 120k ,recently we have noticed the climatronic unit has stopped blowing air to foot well area and also from the centre dash vents. With the colder days just around the corner this was vital it got fixed so i set about goggling it..i discovered a lot of issues with this v70 motor issue throughout the vag range of climatronic units..and from what i gathered it seemed to be the motor sticking and not opening the flap inside the unit resulting in the failure ,i narrowed down the position of the v70 motor (nicely tucked up in the left hand side of the unit just above the pollen filter)i certainly wasnt going to start ripping out all of the dash to get at it as some other posts suggests..so i put my thinking cap on..and this is how i got it working again with just a long shafted flat head screw driver,a torch and some wd40

first of all you will have to get into the car upside down so that your face is pointing up towards the bottom of the dash in the passenger side, locate the 2 vent openings for the passenger side foot well

then with a torch look up inside the vent at an angle towards the centre of the dash ,you will be able to see the rubber edged flap which is connected to the v70 motor, now carefully slide your flat head screwdriver in between the flap and the outer casing applying pressure to open the flap, thus freeing the sticky flap, once i had that done i sprayed wd40 with the straw up in around the flap to help lub things up..and BOOM ! of it started working again,i cleared the 01272 fault and it has been fine since

i hope this helps a few folk i know it sorted mine out ,it may stop working in the future again but at least i know now where to get at the offending flap/v70 motor

@MrWarburtonJnr See that you have not been logged in for over 5 years but anyway; Do you recall if you could see this flap moving when lying on your back and trying to free the flap with a screwdriver?

I have had this error code for 1,5 years but noticed no ill effects but a bit set on sorting this now 🙂 The weather is terrible but I think I will try to see today. When I try setting where the air should go it at least seems like I get air or no air in all of the front vents; floor, middle and windshield.

There is a method of resetting the flaps by pressing a sequence of buttons. Google it (that's what I did). I may sort the issue for you without getting cold and cramped.

Thanks! Already tried yesterday but saw absolutely nothing. Did however test the reset procedure twice, thanks, and will see if my error code is gone :)
