Light switch issue and fix

Hi All

A few months ago (just remembered and thought it may be useful info), the VRS failed it's MOT for the first time ever. It failed on the light switch being stiff/seized for putting the front and rear fog lights on (virtually never use them). I also couldn't get it to work at the MOT station when the guy let me know.

I took the car home and sprayed in some Simoniz Back to Black silicon shine stuff and worked the switch for a few minutes. It slowly started to ease off a bit so it could be positioned for the fog lights to work. I took the car back and they passed it.

I tried again today a few months later and it has eased off more and is like new. Initially I thought I would need a new switch but it's perfect now.

The Back to Black stuff is the same stuff I used when the handbrake rubber ribbon started to stick several years ago.  I give it a scoot every couple of years. Not had a problem since.
