First time VCDS owner - Seeking help on some coding

Featured Replies

So I decided to bite the bullet and get an official VCDS. Initially simple things were going well - Enable Fan Speed display in Auto, Enable Daylight Saving in Columbus, Front Wiper Park, Front Teardrop Wipe - all nice and easy.

Then I decided to go onto the more complicated tasks and alas it all fell apart :)

Second Foglight - I've looked in the "Known working adaptations" however that appears to be in German and also using such an old version of VCDS none of the screen grabs match up

Traffic Sign Recognition - Started going through the instructions, again screen shots from an old version and I got to step two and couldn't find what I needed to change

High Beam Assist - Didn't even start that one as I fear my instructions are outdated on that one too!

I appreciate VCDS can be a high learning curve, but I do feel the best way to learn quite often is "to do". Just wonder if anyone has any more up to date directions on enabling the above three?

Or can point me in the right direction?

Cheers.

1/ save an autoscan

2/ save an admap of EVERY controller you are going to make adaption changes to.

Use the search facility (under adaptations) for key words you are looking for, as you rightly point out sometimes they do move around slightly when new updates are rolled out.

With the use of google translate you should be able to get a grasp of what each adaption means, each using key words in both English and German.

Sometimes ‘doing it the hard way’  can be beneficial to the steep learning curve that the MQB now need.

djduese has a lot good info when you have a few hours spare (again in German):

gendan.co.uk

3 VIN version - £225.

Was not planning on offering my services - having enough trouble working on my own car let alone playing around on others :)

Can always upgrade if I use the initial 3 VIN allowance.
