Has anyone got a Car on the Boat?

Featured Replies

I got told by my Skoda Dealer (Winners of Cinderford) on Wednesday that my Octavia vRS is on the boat to Grimbsy and will be delivered in three weeks. Does anyone know why it takes so long as the boat ride is 48 hours?

my boss at work was told the same thing last week - but now she's been told her vRS will be at the garage in Liverpool by Wednesday this week :D

I think they call it 'managing expectations' ;)

I deal with Winners. Have found them to be very reliable and helpful so far, have bought two brand new cars off them in the past 2 years so that should say something about how happy I am with their service. Hopefully they are being very conservative with their estimate and you will get your car sooner.

Katieclogg, they definately were. My car should be in the showroom today and will be ready to collect Tuesday. They have six cars on the Truck and mine is the first to be checked etc. The only problem is I am working in Surrey that day so my wife will be collecting the car :(

Put it back a day - you've got to have the first drive......

I hope you enjoy the VRS. I bought my Octavia estate from them on the 1st March. What colour VRS are you having?

I work for one of the car transporter firms. Yes it may take a couple of days to ship the car over from Zeebruge but then it needs to find its way through the docks, be checked for damage etc and then planned onto a car transporter load to be delivered to your dealer. Bearing in mind this is the busiest time of the year for new car sales the transportation capacity is quite stretched at the moment. The transporter firms also have a leadtime for deliveries which can be anything up to 5 days or later if there are any issues. Did you buy any options - they also take time to fit ;-)

Good luck. I'm sure the wait will be worthwhile :-)

In case anyone is interested... there were two transporters of Skodas heading down the M18 this morning obviously just been picked up from Grimsby. Plenty of Octy VRS's

Same here agree two new cars and all car servicing carried out by "Winners of Cinderford" - great team.

With my wife picking the car up this means I get home delivery. Otherwise I have to wait until the weekend

Got my car earlier. Only did a run to fill up the tank with BP Ultimate Unleaded. Will check it out tomorrow on my trip to Surrey
