Is is possible to just replace the front grill on  FL mk3?

I remember reading somewhere that it is sold with the bumper as one? I hope this is not the case as mine broke today when a large stone hit it at speed.

It is possible to replace it. There are a couple of threads knocking about where people have swapped the chrome grill for the black one.

I think he means the entire grille, rather than the surround.

 

@moonwrasse you are absolutely correct that the bumper and grille come in one piece. There have been some successful attempts at replacing the grille only on this forum so its not an impossible task. You will need to remove the bumper and possibly plastic weld a new one in place of thd old one. I know superskoda sell an aftermarket honeycomb version but Im not sure if there is an OEM one, you will have to look about. Maybe someone has swapped theirs out amd has the old one spare?

 

Do a bit of searching on the forum you might be lucky enough to find a thread about previous repairs

@JohnnyType2 replaced his with S/skoda honeycomb one, not sure if he still has the OEM one?

@moonwrasse have a look in the Octavia Guides section, someone has replaced their grille, with a write up and pictures

It is possible to replace the grille only on the mk3 fl as its clips to the bumper as my one got damaged and replaced it with a 245 glossy black one

yes you can dremmel the plastic welds and melt them back with the replacement grill as i did or you can use sikaflex 221 or similar to bond it in place.

i sold it on  (it was the pre FL grill)
