PCP Free Services

Featured Replies

A couple of questions actually. First - I bought my Superb 6 months ago and now have 8k on the clock. Hitting the service button on the dash says I am still hundreds of days and thousands of miles before a service so I presume the car is on variable servicing.  Is this correct and no need to confirm with Skoda?

Due to unforeseen circumstances my mileage has been higher than usual I've averaged 10-11k per year for the last 6 years. I intend to keep the car long term so will switch to fixed term So could I run the car to 1 year old and 14-15k miles then at that point switch to  fixed 12month 9500 miles servicing? The issue causing higher miles is now gone.

The car was bought on a PCP which I have just paid off. Will the two free  services still be valid. Either way I'm ahead as I saved approx £1k interest by paying off early.

PS Last Thursday  I drove Glasgow - the west coast of Wales and back in a day. 720 miles. What a brilliant long distance car the Superb is. Arriving home after more than 14 hours driving I was a bit tired obviously but not bad and no aches or pains anywhere.

since you're keeping it I would have the oil/filter changed in the next couple of K then once a year,  re the service I don't know but it should be up for RE-? negotiation   I would at least push for the first oil change,  mark the filter;)    the next year I would do engine and g/box oil + I'm sure the brake fluid is due also .  don@t let them talk you out of having a service ---it's been done before

I remember one garage producing typed invoices with the labour item "Marking components as per originals".
