VAG-COM: Octavia Climatronic display

Control codes are listed below for the Climatronic display in the Octavia.

To access the Climatronic's maintenence mode, press the following 3 Climatronic pushbuttons at the same time: Cold (blue - reducing interior temperature), Blower slower (fan speed down), and ECON. Scroll through the settings shown on the Climatronic using the two temperature keys (Blue and Red)

The best function is on channel 16, because the current speed is digitally indicated there!

00 = total placing value, 0=max. cool, 255 max. heat

01 = interior temperature sensors (at the operating sector of the Climatronic)

02 = average sun exposure index

03 = sun exposure index in mW/cm

Hi

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question, but i'm presuming these modes are to change a certain part of the climatronic display, presumably the bit that would usually display the default reading ie the exterior temperature, to another option ie current speed? Or have I read this all wrong!

Also, would you know if this is applicable to VW cars as the climatronic units are VW sourced?

Cheers

Baz

Indeed they would, but some of the numbers / blocks are different. Think VW use 15 for speed rather than the Skoda 16.

And to think, people buy this info on eBay

It is all freely available on tinterwebnet :D

AFIK these codes and their values are only displayed when the climatronic unit is left in diagnostic mode. I have messed around with mine and it goes back to the default display once you get out of diagnostic mode (you cant adjust the airflow or temp in diagnostic mode).

Cheers for the repsonse guys

So how would one go about setting a permanent change of display? Can it be done manually or will I have to call on a mate and his VAG.COM??

You can change the display to indicate degreees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit. Instructions for doing that are on page 95 of the Octavia Owner's Manual. That's it for permanent changes.

Hmm thats a bit boring!
