Columbus does calls??

Featured Replies

Before writing this post I did read the manual. Front to back. So I am stupid and greatly in need of a wise person.

I have what I believe to be a Columbus system in the car. (Only going by photos of it on Google).

I have a SIM card on a contract I don't use. So so want to stick it in the car so if (when) I forget my phone, I have another way of staying in touch.

But. I don't know if buying a dongle off eBay or even Skoda's own Carstick will do that.

If not then really, what's the point in the Carstick? The top spec system has a SIM card slot. The bottom spec system (mine) doesn't have Navigation.

So can my car make calls without my phone being near it? Thanks a million!

What about if I plugged an old smart phone in via USB cable and just left it there. Forever...
I could transfer all music onto it. It would let me make calls through the phone. It would stay charged forever...?

FIXED!!
Get an old Android phone. Stick a cable in it. Put it in the hole and shut the lid on it. Way to go! Full satellite view Sat Nav, Spotify, car has its own mobile number. So easy! Best infotainment system EVER! :D
