Looking to hardwire a dashcam into my Mk2 vRS. Could go the fusebox route, but would be nice to use an OEM connector and have everything completely hidden away.

 

I've installed an RCD330 stereo, which doesn't support MDI, and have subsequently removed the MDI dock, leaving a 12-pin connector dangling.

 

Does anyone have the pinout for this connector? And, would it be possible to wire a dashcam into it, or has replacing the headunit neutered even the power lines here?

There is a ground there (brown / Yellow) which is "outside" the radio loom, but the positive connection (red / white) is powered from the radio loom so it "may" be powered depending on your new wiring at the headunit.

I'm seeing 0V at the red/white wire, with radio/ignition on/off, so... I guess, fusebox it is.

or just connect the red white from the original radio loom to your new + 12v supply and then use the ground I mentioned, that way your only going to behind the headunit.
