No air from centre vents

Featured Replies

I have dual climate installed in my Octavia II, but i only every get air from the side vents, and not the centre ones (even if i select the 'Vents' option)

Is there anything I can investigate? Quite happy to remove centre console if needed.

If I remember correctly, there is a flap motor somewhere behind the glovebox, which can cause these problems. This controls the flap for the airflow direction and if this isn't working anymore it can result in the issues you have

Found a link on Youtube for a Jetta, but it should be something similar to the O2

Thanks buddy I'll check that out.

Not sure what you mean by 'Vents Option'.

Air flow won't come out of the central vents if you have it set to Feet or Window. It will come out of the dash side vents, though.

I think I've fixed it though, after going down a youtube rabbithole from @DJSmiley 's link.  All it took was a reset of the system, which is accomplished by holding A/C and the button highlighted in the pic above.

Thinking back, I had the battery off a few months ago,  wonder if that left the ventilation flaps in the wrong position.

Mine don't seem to work when in AUTO, but work fine when manually set there.

Yes that's the same as my car when it is working.  The problem was nothing coming out when manually set. As above the calibration routine seems to have solved it.

Excellent!
