Rubbing Noise front passenger side 1.6tdi Octavia MKIII

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

Recently purchased a 2015 Skoda Octavia. After 3 days a faint strange rubbing noise started to appear under the front passenger side which got louder with time. The noise appears when the car is in gear (any gear even reverse) and the clutch is not pressed. When the car is pulling itself with no throttle the noise is loudest. When clutch is engaged (pressed) the noise is not there at all. Its under a 6 month warranty from an independant dealer I brought it back complaining of the noise. He said it was a gearbox issue and  replaced the gearbox but noise was still there faint but still there. After 4 days of driving noise is back and nearly as loud. I thought it could be a clutch problem but was told the car as a single mass flywheel and shouldn't be the problem. I've attached a audio file of the sound any help or info would be great.
