Windscreen replacement woes.

Featured Replies

Had to get the Yeti windscreen replaced this weekend. It developed a starfish  from a stone chip on Thursday night, so contacted the insurance who put me into Autoglass.

Lad turned up promptly on Saturday morning and stuck a new one in, but the gloss black trim on the passenger side broke when taking it off so a new one needed to be ordered and fitted.

A different bloke turned up today to fit it, got it out of the back of his van and dropped it on the end and broke it.

So another one is being ordered to replace the damaged one. Also, they're ordering three new screw covers as one is missing, another broken and had been stuck in with sealant, and the third will just be replaced anyway.

Hey ho...

Thats service to be...

Disappointed with :D

Yeah, if it was gonna go wrong then I guess it had to be me.

I’ve used Autoglass twice and never had any issue, saying that my cousin is the depot manager.

I had the misfortune of using National Windscreens at the insistence of my insure company. They fitted a clear windscreen instead of the tinted they were replacing and managed to get the bonding stuff on the wing then tried to say it must of already been there. At a later date when I went to use the heated windscreen there were large areas that didn’t work. The insurance company were good though and let me use Autoglass to replace the faulty screen, which apparently hadn’t been fitted right either.

Rustynuts, hope you get it sorted soon.

I had a factory fitted screen decide to shatter (wrong word but it split right up the middle straight as an arrow) all on it's own in a new Renault Clio.

As long as it wasn't a chocolate one.

Had a phonecall this morning. They're sending a technician to replace the trim on Monday morning.
