Maxi dot fault

Featured Replies

I purchased a used skoda fabia mk2 last week from the Trade car outlet (part of the dealer DM Keith) in Ossett last week. Love the car and glad to be back with skoda again.

Today was the first time I drove in the dark and spotted that the rev counter and odometer needles don't illuminate. It's really quite difficult to see what speed I'm doing!

I contacted trade car outlet and agreed to take the car in on Wednesday. I wanted to know if they have to fix it or am I going to have a battle on my hands? Although minor in itself its quote serious given how difficult it is to see the speed. Its the maxi dot instrument panel for info.

I also wondered if there is anyway to change the kmh halfway down the maxodot to mph?

Many thanks

Mark

Regardless of the name of the business, Trade Car Outlet they have to sell cars fit for purpose but as to the dash illuminating that might not make it illegal.

So you will need to see the T&C's of your purchase.

They will not have known the dials did not light up unless a staff member drove it is the dark, and if they did know they are unlikely to admit they knew.

DM Keith Dealership Group surely want safe cars on the road and will sort the fault.    Remind them of that, and the power of Social Media.

You can set kmh to show MPH.

Just needs changing to the Australian Setting.

new dash for that one if they want an easy life
