What service

Featured Replies

Have now done 101k and the last service said it needs doing at 104k. Now we have had regular serving as required since new so what service would I expect to have next. It seems a bit mystifying looking at the service book so just wondering what it will be . Any ideas guys?

What has been done in the past? , Is it Main Dealer Servicing so not very much unless you pay extra?

Oil, Filters, Air & Pollen, Fuel Filter. Lots of Look sees and wash and vacuums?

When was Brake Fluid changed, DSG Serviced.

When were the brakes serviced, or anything more than a look see done?

What about telling if a petrol or diesel, then if petrol has the spark plugs been changed or checked?

At that age / mileage, and presuming you're not sure what's been done previously I'd be having the whole lot done:

Oil

Oil Filter

Air Filter

Fuel Filter

Pollen Filter

If you're feeling flush then get the brake fluid done too.

When was the cambelt last changed?

As above, as it's a DSG when was the last time the gearbox oil was renewed?

Hi, in answer to what has been done. It has been serviced by main dealer since new where every thing which is on for that period has been done.PS it is the diesel.

missed out information.

That will be not much done then if Skoda Main Dealer Servicing unless extra is paid for, so Brake Fluid Change @ 3rd year and 5th.

A/C only serviced if paid for.

Air or Fuel Filter changed at 4 years / 40,000 miles if the mood takes the Technician / Fitter.

So look see what was done and when or at the last Service.

Washed & Vacuumed everytime though unless they were told not too.

Maybe best have trusted Independent Specialist Service the car and do what is due and charge for what is done rather than for what gets left out.

Wished I had not brought this thread up, as this morning started up and DSG light came on from cold, logic sdays that it cannot be the clutches over heating so made way to my new Skoda dealer. He said diagnostic test £60 and if the box has to come out it would be seven hours labour plus parts if needed. When I picked myself up after him saying it will be done Wednesday I had to go some where and on journey stopped for five minutes in layby and when starting up again the light did not come on and has stayed off since. Any ideas guys.

You need a scan to check for fault codes as a first step. It could be a selection issue which may not need the box out or wiring / control unit.

As for service always work from the last major service. If it's a fixed yearly service. A  major service is carried out every 4 years. Pollen every 2.

Thanks

?

Is this a 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG.   A DQ200.

If so & If it has had full main dealer servicing.

?

Has it had Service Campaign '34F7' carried out since May 2014, Synthetic Oil changed for mineral & the Software Update?

If a DQ200 DSG and has had the Service Campaign, or the service campaign missed this will be important in the discussion with Skoda UK.

If it is Clutch Packs then they can have a limited life.

If a Mechatronic Control Unit then maybe Skoda UK will need to get involved in some assistance with the cost of this being replaced.

Be sure all is in writing from the Dealership, and you are talking to the Master Tech and not some Service Desk Person with no technical knowledge.

Best have the level of the oil checked.

The level is checked via ODIS & with 6 litres in the box.  You cannot just check the level.

I would still look for a scan as a best first option before opening it up.
