Scout to VRS

Featured Replies

Hi all

Thinking of swapping from Scout to VRs as it's time for a change.

Love the looks/styling of the VRs but worried about the lower ride height and harsher ride, also the lack of traction as its 2wd. Will I really notice a difference between the two cars in the way they drive? Can you pull away briskly in a VRs on a wet road??

Not driven a VRs and the one I am interested in is 150 miles away so can't just pop in for a test drive.

Anyone else made this switch??

Need to change my forum name Lol!!

I made the change and never looked back - the ride in the VRS is remarkably supple and the stability at motorway speeds is excellent plus excellent brakes makes a big difference. Just don't get caught on snow without winter or all season tyres - very little traction on most sports summer tyres.

Thanks that’s reassuring, excited to get this as really wanted the facelift version with the LED headlights and the added bonus of leather / alcantara which is no longer standard

Only slight downside for me is the 19” wheels, they are the new style which look great but think they might ride a bit harder than the 18” so might look to swap them.

The ride on the 18’s is no worse! Keep the 19’s they are flow formed rather than cast as well as better to look at. I’ve had both on my car and the 18 inch Gemini’s aren’t a patch on the 19 inch Xtreme’s.
