Tailgate Lock Delay Question

Featured Replies

All,

I’ve done a search but only came back with issues related to the self-opening tailgate, apologies if I have missed something obvious.

Anyone know what the standard factory set delay is for locking the Karoq tailgate? Mine seems to take for ages to lock. Just a little concerned about security if left on a car park etc.

Unfortunately it’s going into Simpsons Preston this week to have an SOS Telephone fault looked at (amber warning light wont reset) so will ask them to see if it can be reset or at least set with a much shorter delay. There is a security warning about this in the hand book but don't recall seeing any actual mention of the amount of time delay.

Other than that, well satisfied with the car after the first two weeks.

All the best,

Chris

If you lock the car when leaving the car the boot is locked have never experienced or read about any boot lock delay.

Sounds like your dealer has already been fiddling with the settings prior to you collecting the vehicle?

The original settings should see the boot lock at the same time as the other doors, unless adjusted by a specialist garage i.e. a Skoda main dealer, or a previous owner with VCDS or similar.

The idea behind this feature is to prevent you from locking your keys in the boot/car. If the car is locked, and you open the boot using the central button on the keyfob, only the boot unlocks, all other doors remain locked, then when you shut the boot again, it automatically locks... and if you've put the keys down in the boot and forget to retrieve them, the boot automatically locks when you shut it. The delay is designed to give you time to remember your mistake and open the boot before it locks.

Thanks.

Just tried it again and i reckon it takes over 30 seconds to lock. I'll get it changed when it goes in on Wednesday.
