Fallout

Featured Replies

So I normally just drive cars and leave the technical cleaning part to someone else. Theres a very good detailing place nearby that I let do my VRS but the mrs has a white fabia monte carlo and I gave it a decent clean today.

Just this morning, in my naivety I watched a youtube detailing video. In it they talked about fallout and the yellow/orange spots ot leaves. I hadnt thought about it before to be fair, I thought it was tree sap contamination previously but now I know its ferrous material.

Anyway, one thing the guy said was that apart from brake debris this fallout phenomenon woumd be caused by something like parking near a railway. Well guess what? Yeah the mrs works for a rail depot and the car is parked next to the lines for 8 hours 5 days a week.

Im not exaggerating when I say the little monte is speckled from top to bottom in fallout. So I need some remover.

Long story short, I was going to order some autoglym liquid clay. Bearing in mind Im a casual user not wanting to go over the top. Is there anything pump based that can do the same job at a similar price or better?

I have used the Bilt Hamber Korrosol for a good few years.

I've also started using a lot of EZ Car Care stuff which I've been impressed with, and they nearly always have a sale on.

You'll probably need to use a clay bar to get right down to the nitty gritty. The BH ones just require the car to be spritzed with tap water rather than a dedicated lubricant like some other brand require.

I would also advise to follow up with either a coat of polish or wax.
