Engine rebuild

My Octavia is going into Badger 5 the end of March to have a full engine strip and rebuild. Should end up with 2 litre, and around 450 bhp. I'm also swapping to a 6 speed box upgrade clutch, flywheel and with bigger breaks and suspension etc. If anyone is interested, I post some pictures once it's finished in May.

Manifold, injectors, FMIC, crank, turbo etc. The whole engine is being rebuilt along with having 3-4 map options to select from. 450bhp is the power I want but it could be more.. Once it's done, I'll post a full list of what's been done.

Not yet. Its due to go in in September for the rebuild to a 2 litre Stoker so just waiting on the parts to come in. Some are from the US, turbo etc. It's going in in the next couple of weeks to get the gear box, shafts, clutch and flywheel swapped for a 6 speed off a cupra r plus a LS dif ready for the building. I keep all posted as the building goes on plus photos.

Hi pal, very interested in your incredible rebuild, is this a mk1 vrs.

I presently have one with rebuilt engine and loads if upgrades but need a different turbo and looking at a 6 speed box just like yourself.

Really interested

Regards n good luck.

What hp are you looking for? My turbo is a Garrett 25-550 and the gear box is off a Cupra R. The best person to ask is Bill at Badge 5. He has a web site and a face book page.. He's well know for mods on these engines across the UK...

Not really aiming for mega bhp, 350 plus would be ideal.

Looking to get a ko4 064 hybrid but need the adapter plate, plus of course the cupra R gearbox. What code is the gearbox, I see loads of fml gearboxes, but have been told to ensure I use the o2m / fzq .

Mine presently has the 6 speed diesel (laugh !) From the mk4 gti tdi golf.  Sluggish early revs, no torque but when it kicks in, its wicked.

What downpipe did you use, one off for the build ?

Sorry for questions, cant believe I've found someone who's done what I want to do.

So be nice to hear from you with a reply to the above questions but I'll check out Badge 5.

Hi Paul, Mine was to total strip down and reboar to a 2 Lt stroker, so just about everything has been replaced from front to  back, exhaust, gear box with a LSD etc. Most of the front end is off a Audi TT. It runs at around 530-550 bhp and has 4 changeable maps with the lowest at 380 bhp. The picture below is an old'ish one. I'm in the process of replacing the expansion tank, some of the plastic coolant fittings with ally ones, pipes, jubilee clips etc.. I wanted to do a few bits myself.

If you can email from work, email at

[email protected] and I'll see if I can the list of what was done from Bill and the parts of that helps..
