Electric window question?

Featured Replies

Hi Friends

If anyone can help I would appreciate a little advice.

Fabia 1.2 2013 all it is really, my front electric windows no longer close remotely with the key.

I did remove the battery some time ago and after surprisingly, the radio and Windows functioned properly without needing 're setting. The other day when closing my drivers window, it closed half way then went down again of it's own accord. This hasn't reaccured. May have been pilot error. Now the front Windows with the key won't close remotely. The doors lock but the front Windows don't close.

My interpretation of the book instructions:

Passenger door window, Ignition on, open window, stop, close window, stop, Then hold button in the up position for 3 seconds.

Drivers door the same but when the button is pressed for the 3 seconds there is a click click cluck  bouncy noise not very loud, but noticable. The front Window closed properly. But the front Windows still won't close remotely.

I bought this from a Skoda dealer and have the balance of a used car warranty  until April.

But it's a long drive and I really don't want to return, only as a last resort.

Is there an easy fix please.

I am not sure if my local Skoda dealer only 4 miles away, would repair under the other garage warranty scheme.

Thanks Guys

Regards John

Mistakes do happen

Sounds to me like the drivers window regulator is on its way out, potential cable fraying / getting stuck and because it seems to be overtorquing, its potentially stopping the others / remote working.

If its a "dealer" warranty, should be valid at any dealer.

Just what I wanted to hear thank you.

I popped into Walkers of Lynn and a nice man simply pressed a few buttons and all works absolutely lovely.

No charge, excellent service.
