DSG 7 DQ200 Gear change logging via VCDS - for info

Featured Replies

I was playing around with some logging in VCDS the other day and mapped these values:

Clutch 1 : actual position

Clutch 2 : actual position

Gear

Engine speed

Vehicle speed

Could be useful for someone in the future.  I started to take a nose to see if I could work out the clutch wear on the two clutches, K1 and K2.

A lot of interesting information can be read up here on this site:

I noticed that clutch 1 actually moves position from N to D even though you have your foot on the brake fully.  Perhaps this is priming the clutch for quick engagement. Presume this isn't causing wear but shifting to N reduced the clutch to a resting position. At idle speed in D, Clutch 1 was showing around 9mm.  When I moved to N the clutch moved back to 1.5mm which is also the same as in P.

Also interesting to see the more throttle you apply the more pressure is applied to the clutches, which of course makes sense.

As you can see my clutches indicate slightly different positions, 1.5 mm and 1.8 mm at rest.  Wonder if that shows that one is more worn than the other.
