3rd to 2nd clicking DSG

Featured Replies

Good afternoon all, hope you are all well. I have a 2008 1.9 diesel automatic octavia. I have recently noticed that when the dsg downshifts from third to second there is sometimes a clicking noise which is sometimes happens and sometimes doesn't. Also I am not sure if the two are related but there is now also a vibrating noise (no actual vibration) that comes if I don't press the accelerator when moving off from stationary or whilst driving eg when slowing down... AGAIN this is not always. I can only assume this is similar to when one is driving a manual and doesn't apply gas and car sounds like is going to stall. I appreciate your replies. Many thanks.

The second part of your post relates to my car and I was told it is normal. Happened on my 2014 dry clutch dsg Yeti too. The clicking when downshifting sounds odd though.

Hi thanks for your reply. I think the clicking sound is actually more of a grinding/clunk type of noise if that helps?

with regards to the vibrating noise I have realised when driving or in neutral if inrev the car up to about 1300 revs the vibraition noise is very evident however anymore revs than that it disappears.

Oh, mine doesn't vibrate in neutral at all. I'd get that checked out
