Auto-hold sticking.

Featured Replies

Got my Sport-Line in May and twice since then, while having auto-hold on, the handbrake won’t go off. I’ve had to switch the auto hold off and switch the handbrake off manually. anyone else had problems? I phoned Parks in Hamilton about booking it in, but it’s started working ok again. Tempted to just take it in anyway to get it checked out. Thanks.

Good idea to get it checked out.

Skoda Warranty type thing.    Parks of Hamilton a bit of a pity though.

But if they say 'They all do that, or Never seen that before, or one member of staff says one thing and another says the other then get it to Ingrams or Hendrys if the issue continues.

Having autohold on should not effect the handbrake. The auto hold keeps the pressure in the brake system same as having foot on brake and hold all 4 wheels. The EHB is a totally separate system and applies in the rear wheels only.

Thanks.

If I lift the clutch too quickly with the electronic parking brake on, it is possible to set off before the EPB disengages. This creates the impression it has stuck on or failed to release. I then have to dip the clutch and release the clutch pedal again, albeit slower.

The auto hold feature is so good I only ever use the EPB when leaving the car, so I now release it manually using the button with my foot on the brake pedal.

No problems with mine. One of the best features on any car.

But annoyed that it keeps the brake lights on, so sometimes I switch on the hand brake to kill the lights on long halts.

I have just got my Karoq 1.5 dsg petrol back which was in for the same problem handbrake not releasing. Mostly there is no issue but on occasion it happens at the worst times, tried to kill me 3 times at roundabouts. Any way been told today to keep the stop/start switched off  mean time to see if this is a factor. There appears to be no errors codes showing resulting in we can't find an issue. So will try this for a while the take it back immediately if it continues.
