Will there be a 4x4 version of the Scala?

Featured Replies

Particularly for winter driving in mountains?

Maybe once they get around to making it a Hybrid and adding the drive to the rear.

Maybe the Kamiq will be the one that gets that though and a bit more clearance.

The Karoq is already 4,382 mm long & offers AWD.

and the Scala 4,362 mm

the Kamiq 4,240 mm

No

@Croat  Did you get this from a Factory Insider?

Why will there not be a Hybrid model giving rear wheel drive and FWD without need for a prop shaft?

Will they not take a Scala Rallying when the Fabia is no more,

or is Hybrid and AWD for the Kamiq only eventually?

ICE or PH wont have 4x4 as far as I know for now. But you never know.

I personally don't think the Scala or Kamiq will EVER get four wheel drive and you can quote me on that if it never happens.;)

Skoda were spinning a story on the next Fabia vRS.   Using their favoured organ Auto Car / Haymarket Media Group.

Bet you a fiver @shyVRS245 that there is an AWD Kamiq and Hybrid.   I will get you a breakfast in Wetherspoons as well.

PS

Re article and Mk2 Fabia vRS.

Sales / First Registrations ended in 2015, production ended 2014,

but then Auto Car knows best, they are professional and check these things.

I'll take that £5 bet but not the Wetherspoon's offer. Even if a FabiaVrs sees the light of day again it won't be Four Wheel Drive as all hybrids so far have been front wheel drive. In York next Saturday if you want to pop down and I will treat you to a nice meal and a Diet Pepsi (no drinking and driving of course).;)

I agree, but it will not be a Fabia, which is why it will be lighter model than a Karoq.

Front wheel 1.0TSI rear Electric drive, nice new 7 speed DSG.

PS.

Next weekend is Perth the Fair City for balls, buffets, banquets and bikes.

Next trip South is to the launch of the Kamiq in Leeds.

Most powerful engine will be 148bhp petrol so no need for 4WD plus emissions issue for manufacturers with average co2 per vehicle of 95gm/km to meet. Wife's Karoq SEL 1.5TSi manual already 126gm/km co2 and that's with front wheel drive.

The current most powerful engine is the flawed 1.5 TSI EVO.  You can not keep producing cars to get WLTP / RDE / RDE2 figures that are

a PITA to actually drive, launching them and having people think this needs a software update.

In the life of a Scala / Kamiq even Derren Brown can not know if they produce ones with 1.4TSI & Light Hybrid.

2021 & RDE2 is going to be what matters and there will be a Face Lift model down the line.

There are no TDI or DSG Fabia available. There is no Petrol or Auto Citigo available you need to go EV to have a small 2 pedal car.

The cheapest available ICE 2 pedal cars from Skoda are a Scala or a Kamiq.   That is just crazy.

As is Skoda Motorsport Heritage and Rally Success being in Fabia shaped cars and Skoda never producing Showroom versions of AWD cars.

Just Motor Sport ones at over £34,000 to allow Skoda to have Rallying Success.

We are in Perthshire in early June but doubt whether the pub breakfast beats the Dunkeld House Hotel and Spa one.😆

Friends work there and i used to stay there.

I hope you took the back road towards Blairgowrie and went to the A93.

There are many places with fabulous breakfasts in Scotland, and Driving roads, and if the roads are open tens of thousands of FWD or RWD cars moving around.

We stayed in Blairgowrie in June 2009 when 4 of us spent a week touring in my then new Superb SE 138bhp TDi. Visited Perth,Fort William, Gretna, Stirling, Isle of Skye and Gairloch as well.😲
