have you tried changing the COM ports in the vagcom options?

It will not work until you get the registered version £75 ish

if i use com 2 the testing bit takes ages then comes back port: ok

interface:not found and thats all ive been getting

is there anything on the Vagcom website or it's yahoo groups forum?

I know Ross-Tech don't recommend using a serial-USB adapter, but I'm not sure about a PCMIA card.

If you know the lead is good then from my experience it'll be the pcmcia card, you need to get into the settings, turning off buffers and all sorts of other crazy stuff.

right i seem to have version 311-2 working, well i think its connecting but then i get error messages and like a searching thing going on is this normal am i any closer to getting this thing working (could be baud rates possibly) i know this might be a bit vague but i only had about 5 mins earlier to try

does any one have any more ideas or does this sound familiar if you got this far then solved it please tell me how

Could do with a bit more info. The problem I had was hit and miss, it would connect fine to some modules e.g. engine but would just sit when trying to access others e.g. ABS. Apparently some modules are more 'picky' than others. As noted on the Ross Tech website, the answer lay in turning off "FIFO" or reducing the level of the "Receive Trigger Level".

thanks for your suggestions its seems i have had some mild sucess its conecting now after farting about with buffers and so on i can't quite work out how it worked but it seems to going i think turning the baud up helped)

does the program do a full scan on everything in one go or do i have to do all those modules individually

You need a registered version for auto scanning iirc. :)
