Paint code for alloy wheels?

Featured Replies

My 2006 Octavia is silver metallic and had had a sideswipe in the past with lots of scrapes touched in very badly, I then added to it by scraping along a dwarf concrete block wall.

I have just repaired my damage and painted it with a colour match aerosol mixed by my favorite paint supplier, I forgot the 2K lacquer so ended up using a DIY shop can intended for furniture etc, to my amazement the match is perfect and you just cannot see where it has been blown in, I had a lot of experience from years back but had done nothing for close to 2 decades and I've never had such good results, I think its having the time now and the patience to not rush things.

Anyway flush with my success I have started to repair the front bumper and front alloy wheel which were both scraped in the sideswipe, I have stoppered up the scratches but it has only just dawned on me that despite the wheels looking an identical colour and finish to the bodywork they are unlikely to be and that my repair will probably stand out.

The paint code of the bodywork is 9102 Silver Diamant, the alloy wheels are the standard ones fitted to the Elegance version.

It would not be so bad if the stopper was grey and not red so I have to continue but without the right paint code its likely to look worse than if I hadn't started.

Did a bit of Googling{tm} and came up with a few possibles:

VW/Audi colour called Oxygen Silver Metallic(L1H7)

and a general Brisky thread about alloy wheel silvers.

I went to our local friendly paint mixer (Ian has a long and well-earned reputation as _the_ man for auto paint) for touch up for my Octy 2 2007 alloys and he provided me with a touch-up bottle that matched perfectly.  Unfortunately it has his own paint code on it but I can ring him tomorrow to see if he can provide an official Skoda code.

If you can't find a Skoda code and want to order stuff from Ian I'll be happy to pick it up and post it on to you if that helps.

I had a similar issue many moons ago. Here are the fruits of my research...

Thanks for the responses, I will try a blow in with what I have, someone has already done a bad touch up and the colour does not shout at me, if the body colour doesnt match now I know what to look for!

I blew in the damaged portion with the 9102 Silver Diamant and it looks identical.
