new happy octavia owner and reactions of environment

Featured Replies

I just purchased an octavia elegance 81kw tdi (no estate). I'm very happy with it and get great reactions on it.

The car looks bigger as the bora, it also has a much larger trunk and bigger access to it.

My friends who are not into skoda for the moment find that it looks like a bmw on front, and as a passat on the back.

They all think(even collegues with a bora) that the octavia is based on the passat!

Can you have bigger compliments on a car that costs much less than the vw eq.(it's even cheaper than a golf).

Best of all, my father/father in law have both boras and the only thing they don't like about it, is the regular trunk and they are amazed by the trunk of the octavia.

i've been a happy vw golf IV driver(lease cars) before i purchased this myself.

For future cars i will certainly look at skoda again if it retains the same price/quality/equipment level.

when i compare the golf to it, the octavia just seems to eliminate the (few)ive sides of the golf.

Only the use of some plastics in the octavia seem(and prob. are) cheaper.

I have owned two Audi A4 Quattros before and you are right, some of the main dashboard plastics (switches mainly) are not quite as good. However, I would say that it is very very close and is better than all the Subarus I have owned.

The Octavia feels as well built as the Audis (door shut etc)

can't agree more, built quality is the same as vw. No cracks or noices from the inside, not even on bad roads.

Also doesn't bottom out so fast on speed bumps, although the bumper looks much lower than the golf.
