Dent Removal, good or bad?

Featured Replies

Picked up a small dent in the door just below the mirror, had it removed by dentbusters.

The dent originally was size of 10p and could be seen from all angles.

Now if you catch the car in the light there is a 30mm long ripple where the repair was done, can't be seen when viewed straight on.

Is this what you'd expect? or is it just a poor job.

Can they really remove them witout any trace from any angle?

worry is ripple is probably due to stretched metal, if they have another go will it be worse.

Really want to know if you can expect there to be no witness after such as repair from any angle in the sunlight?

The metal would have stretched when the original dent was made. The repairer basically needs and taps/pulls the dent out from behind, it will never be like new but will certainly look better than the dent that was there before.

You will never get it perfect again after a dent due to the stretching effect on the metal, however, it will look better than it was.

A £30 repair is a lot easier to put up with than the £300 new door and the accompanying paint job (which will never match the rest of the car anyway). I guess it's the lesser of two evils that we need to put up with.
