Exhausts

Featured Replies

Any one know where I can get the rear box for the Fabia? Been to motor parts direct. They don't stock them, nor does Bedford battery. Ive had a look on euro car parts website but they don't list it!
Don't fancy paying the dealers prices at all!
Any one got any thoughts?

What model / engine of a Mk2 Fabia.

Did you go to a Local Tyre / Exhaust centre and get a price of one fitted, or even ask if they will get one in from their supplier in 24-48 hours and sell you it for you to fit yourself?

Maybe put a Wanted Ad in Briskoda and maybe a member has a back box or system they removed after doing an upgrade.

Its the elegance estate and a 1.2 engine. Havent thought about the local garage though!

Well there are places that exhausts are their business, and there are Motor Factors with a counter a phone, computer and person behind that sources car parts.

I would never use a Main Dealers to fit or supply an exhaust part, well not unless they were cheap.  but you need to ask first to see what the Parts Desk quotes.

?

How much did the parts desk staff quote?

I cannot comment on Skoda personally, but I have had experience with aftermarket boxes and have found the so-called budget ones from local Kwak-Fit type centres, usually decompose after the initial warranty has expired, where by the proper main dealer ones are super tough, longer lasting items.

Of course, this may be subject to original equipment. Budget shops use brands such as Walker, along with others. Some may be thin, mild steel that corrodes from the inside before you see the damage.

I had a Saab Turbo and they would absolutely KILL an aftermarket pipe. The genuine one weighed much more and lasted ages. To that end, even my (Then) local Saab guy recommended getting a use genuine pipe, rather then going to Kwak-Fit type outlets.

Perhaps a decent tyre, wheel and exhaust specialist may offer a good product at a decent price.

Remember the Skoda stuff has two years warranty. Many fitters may only offer one.

I looked at the one UrbanPanzer highlighted though and that has a massive three year warranty and is quite a good price. Might even have discount codes or try carparts4less and type in the same product code number as they sell the same stock.

But then, if you are selling the vehicle afterwards....

You gets what you paid for!

Cheers Mrgf. From what I can see on the rear box I think it's been on there since it left the showroom ( 5 years!).
