Issue is that this was done in Skoda service and car is still under warrant but they keep saying that i done this, which i didn't. In any case i'm still arguing with them but just want to get 2nd opinion. And yes, they cannot fix this, whatever they tried same keep happening. But pretty sure that they don't have clue what to do.

Also i'll attach other screenshots with software version.

Is there anything to be done? Like, is it possible to download latest software on computer and update it via usb/cd/etc?

I won't do anything until car is under warrant but just want to have some option's in case they don't do anything.

Sorry for long post and thanks in advance!

Okay, I'm presuming this is the maps software you're having issues with? Does the day nav currently work at all? Are you in the UK?

Hi. Yes, well when i start device i get that message, and i hit OK and can use everything except maps. Nav is  not working at all, when i try to use them i get that error about software update being interrupted.

Not from UK, Bosnia.

I'm not at my desk right now so I don't know what region maps you need, but if you go to the skoda website here.

https://updateportal.skoda-auto.com/

You can download your maps yourself, pop them on a suitable SD card or usb drive and reinstall them yourself.

Yeah i know that, but that is not working. Reason for that is that i think there is some kind issue with software itself. When they were doing first update of firmware, they probably did something wrong, maybe interrupted it or who know what, and after that it is not possible to update maps.

That why i'm asking is any way to reinstall/repair software?

So you think the issue is with the software rather than the maps?

Yes.

You can see in first post, first 2 images after i start device. First i get that error, and when i click details i get message from 2nd picture.

So that is happening even without opening Nav, just when i start device.

The system checks the whole unit including the maps install when it starts up. It doesn't wait til you select nav to load, so if the issue is with the maps then it'll warm you straight away. You have the advantage over me because you can see what's going on, but have you tried reloading the maps, and if so what happens? You know there are two "software" update procedures, one for maps and one for system software? You need to use the correct procedure for each update so you can't update the maps with a system update procedure, and a system update won't work with a maps update.

Ahhh, so it is possible that just maps are faulty? Hm, when i type VIN on Skoda update page i just get ECE 2019 to download (size 25GB), and it says there is no other software for this VIN. Is it possible that both maps and firmware are in that file or what?

And not sure about that two update procedures, can you explain little bit better, and where/how to do each of them? For maps it is pretty simple, insert card and then press "Menu"> "Settings"> "System Information"> "Update software".

I assume it is something like that for software? But where to get that software, since there is nothing on Skoda page? Thanks for help! :)

You can't download the system software from the website, only maps and possibly Bluetooth updates etc. System software updates are dealer only unless someone has made the software available on the net but I can't recall seeing 0702 anywhere.

The fact the unit is fully functional other than sat nav would point to the maps being the issue for me.

Hm, but when i try to update maps i also get error that update was interrupted and that system will reboot.

I think that they in Skoda tried to update software and according to them it gets to certain % and then just stops.

Why were they trying to update the unit?

They said there is a new update and that they'll update it, and since then i have this issue. I only asked for latest maps.

Everything was working fine before it.

If they broke it then they should fix it in my view. Have you contacted Skoda head office rather than the dealership?

I agree, this is just in case they don't. I won't touch anything until warrant is there. Also i think i could get software version somehow from them.

No, i didn't. Seems i'll have to.

If, once you have downloaded and attempted to install the maps it still doesn’t work I would update the software to the latest 1233 software which is available on the web. I can put you in touch with someone who has it if you like :)

Sure, that would be nice. :)

I have to go now, but you can send me via pm or whatever, thanks!
