high level brakelight bulb (led?) blown

Featured Replies

Anybody got any idea how to get access to the high level brake light bulbs?  I have one not lighting up in the middle but there is nothing in the handbook about replacing these bulbs. I am getting the car serviced next week and don't want a big dealer bil l to change a bulb if its an easy job.

Thanks

Dave

From workshop manual.

""The high level brake light does not have a bulb but is fitted instead with LEDs. Replacement of the individual LEDs is not possible so the brake light must be replaced as a complete unit in the event of a fault.""

Thanks everybody. Anybody know how to remove the old unit? Does the inside panel have to be removed to gain access to wiring etc. Or does it just prise out from the rear?

This is for the Octavia but Yeti will be similar.

So, it turns out that LED lights are covered by warranty, so the dealer is going to fit a new one next week when it goes in for its service. Happy days! :-)
