17" Steel Kodiaq wheels on VRS for winter?

Featured Replies

Hi All, love the forum, I am a long time reader but first time poster.

I just purchased a 2014 Octavia RS Estate and it came with no winter wheels/tyres.  It has 18x7.5" wheels on it with 225/40/18 summer tyres.  I would prefer some smaller and narrower wheels and tyres for winter.  I believe 17" is the smallest to fit over the brakes (from reading on here) but you still need to be careful with the wheel design/offset and it can be a tight fit.

Has anyone tried fitting the 17 x 6.5" steel rims meant for a Kodiaq to a mk3 Octavia RS?  Part number 5QF60102703C (6.5Jx17K2 ET38 with spacing: 5x112mm)

Original RS rims have ET51. So there is 13mm difference. And the kodiaq rim is narrower. I think that can work but the rim will be lined up with side of the car..more or less.

Please someone correct me if im thinking wrong..

I have one of THESE wheels as a spare and although there is not a lot of room it fits comfortably over the 340mm vRS brakes. It is the same size

I see they are now listed for the Kodiaq so I don't see why those you listed should be any different.

Great news, thank you so much!!  Yes those look to be exactly the same specifications.  I will get some of these for winter.
