Swapped my Mk6 fiesta for this 08 Fabia Sport 1.4 TDI yesterday,  my first Skoda.....

Are these common issues;

1. Both front E/W go down ok, but seem to slide forward on the way up so i have to pull them back.

2. Drivers door doesn't lock with remote locking, only Key in lock. (No warning lights on)

The lock issue might be a broken wire in the door loom... Common fault in all VW based cars. Look inside the rubber boot/bellow between the door and the chassis. I think the central locking one is green but look closely at all the wires.

There have also been issues with window runners I have not actually encountered it but worth noting. I think the winders/runners either mess up or something breaks so there is either a repair kit or perhaps replacement of the mechanism  but it should be fairly straight forward to rectify, if you know the problem. 

Most problems owners find often turn up here, mostly with solutions, sometimes not but welcome to the forum and to the world os Skoda.

 

You will see many owners going from one Skoda to another or own a few at a time so they tend to be respected on the whole. As with any marque, there is always the occasional unhappy ending and someone will swear never to buy one again, though. If this happens, remember, Skoda is owned by VW, so VW's, Audi's, Porsche's, Skoda's, Seat's and Bugatti"s will all be on the "Not to trust" List! Probably a few others, too.
